About Us

Kellie and Carla started dancing at a very young age and met in 1992 at 11 years old when they both won places to train at The Royal Ballet School in London. Their passion for ballet has only grown stronger through the years.

BalletBesque School of Dance (formerly Strictly Ballet) launched in 2016 for Kellie and Carla to encourage people of all ages and genders to experience this extremely beneficial form of dance. Discipline, balance and coordination, plus the stimulation of the brain and a physical workout are just a few reasons to get into a ballet studio.

Kellie continued ballet training alongside other forms of dance and has completed
and passed her Diploma in Dance Education with the ISTD in May 2021.  Kellie continues her professional development with the Teachers Inspire Series course with The Royal Ballet, and has studied Philip Cutts Dance Medicine course.
Kellie is married with 3 children, Zacharie, 17, Eryn, 15, and Hana 11.

Carla continued her ballet training and became a professional ballet dancer.  Carla has also studied other forms of dance and fitness including pilates.  Carla is currently taking her Diploma in Dance Education with the ISTD.  Carla is married with 2 children, Emilia 12 and Hadley 10.

Miss Lucy Arnold joined us in June 2019.  Lucy trained at The Legat School of Dance and The Northern Ballet School and also works as a personal trainer with a speciality in functional range conditioning.  She has a very strong skill set that we believe is a great addition to our ballet school.  Not only is Lucy a wonderful ballet dancer, her favourite style of dance is modern jazz and she has a very deep knowledge of the functional range conditioning that is brought into class. Lucy has previously taught children's ballet, jazz and tap as well as musical theatre classes.
